2025 RESULTS 2025 SERIES RESULTS

The Gravel 'n' Tar starts at the base of Puketapu, 'Sacred Hill'. A first-up climb on the tar seal of Horse Range Road takes you straight onto the tight, fast and furious technical gravel section, this short circuit will be navigated four times by the Calect Electrical Championship Class (long course) and three times in Competitive Class (short course). Hang on tight to those bars as you are in for an exhilarating ride. Starting at the DJ Murray Hall at East Otago High School, Horse Range Road, Palmerston, Otago and finishing on Fleming Road, with a short ride back to the start.

There are two distances on offer, with three competitive classes in each distance and separate age groups for both males and females. We will not be running an e-bike category this year. Points will be rewarded by finishing order, i.e. one point for first, 2 points for second etc, with final series placings determined by the lowest combined score from your best three events.

A current race licence that is affiliated with Cycling New Zealand is a requirement. If you do not hold a licence, you can apply at https://www.cyclingnewzealand.nz/clubs-and-membership/becoming-a-member-2/. We can arrange a licence for the series at a cost of $22.50. We will email you separately to arrange this.

Sign-on will be at the DJ Murray Hall, East Otago High School, Horse Range Road, Palmerston, Otago from 9am until 10.15am, riders briefing that all must attend at 10.30am and racing starting around 11am. Medals for podium finishes in both grades, all classes and all age groups. Prizegiving will be held at the Waihemo Lodge, with spot prizes kindly sponsored by My Ride Dunedin.

Full category and age group information is available on the entry form.
